Specialist Orthodontist
Dr. Jason Southwell
BDSc. Hons. (Melb) DCD Orthodontics (Melb) BSc. (Montreal) MSc. (Montreal) AOB Cert. 
Jason was born and raised in Canada. He attended the internationally renowned McGill University in Montreal Canada where he obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Molecular Genetics. His thesis research on prostate cancer was published and he presented the findings at numerous international conferences. After trying his hand as a research scientist and later as a high school teacher, Dr. Southwell decided a change in professions was on the cards. He attended Melbourne Dental School where he received numerous awards for academic excellence including having the highest aggregate marks over the 5 years of his dental course. After years of private practice in Mildura, Dr. Southwell decided another change was on the cards and he returned to the Melbourne Dental School to specialize in Orthodontics. He received his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics and eventually he and his family returned to Mildura to join Dr. Allan Coveney in private practice.

Dr Southwell loves being an orthodontist as it allows him to forge long term relationships with his patients and he takes immense pride in working with them to transform their smiles. Dr. Southwell enjoys regularly attending national and international meetings to keep up to date with the technical advances in orthodontics and particularly enjoys incorporating technology into his everyday practice. He is kept busy outside of clinic by his two energetic daughters: Zadie and Remi; both of whom were born in Mildura. He and his wife Stacey are very happy to be back in town and look forward to building on the already stellar reputation Dr. Allan Coveney has forged over the past 35 years as the only resident Orthodontist in the Mildura region.

Oral Health Therapist
Ms Stacey Hochreiter
Stacey is a qualified Oral Health Therapist after completing a Bachelor of Oral Health (Dental Hygiene/ Dental Therapy) degree at the University of Melbourne in 2008. With years of experience working within private Orthodontic clinics, Stacey works closely with Dr Southwell to create our patient's new smiles!
Since graduating with Dean’s Honors List and Dental Hygienist Association Australia awards, Stacey has worked in private practice in Melbourne and Mildura, she enjoys clinical demonstrating for the La Trobe University dental students at the Sunraysia Community Health Service, and Oral Health Promotion in schools and community groups within Sunraysia.

Sharon
Sharon’s is the first smile you’ll see when you walk into our clinic, and the voice you’ll hear on the phone. Sharon has been working alongside Dr Coveney for the last 20 years, now working closely with Dr Southwell, aiming to ensure that all patient needs are met and questions answered. Sharon’s extensive orthodontic knowledge enables Sharon to help explain the different treatment types available to our patients and what to expect at each appointment.

Our team of dental assistants have over 40 years of combined orthodontic experience. They have a joint passion in providing you and your family with friendly faces, the best care, and kindness when you visit our clinic. Each of our dental assistants enjoys learning new skills and working with the newest technology while helping our Orthodontists transform your smiles. Our experienced lab technician, Dani, works with Dr Southwell to create your in-house aligners, and retainers in our on-site laboratory using the latest 3D printing technology.
